How do I use this service? Do I already have the right equipment?
All you need to use SupernovaTV is a Smart TV, although you can also install this service on a PC or MAC. In addition, you can also use a dedicated device like an Android TV box (e.g., Beelink GT1 Ultimate) or a MAG type box. Keep in mind that there are many different types of MAG boxes (with MAG being the box’s brand name).
Other types of popular boxes are DreamLink’s, Formuler z7 ’s and BUZZ TV boxes.
Smart TV’s will do the bare minimum by allowing you to connect to an IPTV service. To achieve a better experience, owning a dedicated device supporting your new IPTV will have a better impact on visual quality and streaming.
Depending on the make of your Smart TV, it may not have access to the Google Play Store. For example, it may only have access to the Samsung TV app store, the LG TV app store etc. We strongly advise against using Roku boxes.
The first method that we recommend is using an Android TV Box – it’s a little computer with an Android Cellphone/Tablet operating system installed on it. It gives you full access to the Google Play Store, which means you can install whatever IPTV app you want and as many as you want too. The second method is a dedicated IPTV box (as discussed above). These boxes are designed strictly for IPTV and are set up very much like your Cable or Satellite tv boxes. Dedicated boxes use a MAC address as a login instead of a username and password. A MAC address is a unique hardware ID assigned to your IPTV box or any internet connected device. Your phone, tablet and computer have a MAC address that is unique to it.
To connect to SupernovaTV using a MAC address:
- You will need to provide us with your MAC address (located on the device)
- We add it to our system, then we provide you with a URL to put into your browser to connect
Alternatively, Android TV boxes require a username and password to log into the IPTV network. The added bonus to this type of connection is that you can use your account on any device (e.g., your phone or tablet, at work, on the road; or watching tv etc.)
Keep in mind that you can only connect to our service with one device at a time
What else do I need?
We highly recommend an internet connection with a minimum download speed of 20mbps download.
